I've posted about this subject before but our brother over at IndependentConservative has a post that reminded me of just how close we are (yet again) to the fulfillment of prophecy. By now, you may be well aware of the advancements of RFID technology (or 'the chip'). It's no longer in the realm of science fiction but becoming more and more a reality with each passing day. The videos below are just a smidgeon of the real possibilities and discussions taking place in our world today. I don't know if this type of "chipping" will indeed turn into the prophesied 'mark of the beast' spoken of in Revelation. However, it sure seems like a good precursor; especially when you think about just a few short years ago such technological advances were practically unheard of. Saints, we best be ready. We are but a terrorist attack (or economic meltdown) away from some MAJOR changes in our so-called "free society". All we need is some major shakeups in the world and a powerful, charismatic "leader" with "all the answers" to take charge. (Of course, this leader will demand 'allegiance' and he would have to have some way of 'keeping track' of society). Sound farfetched? Not so much anymore.

Revelation 13:6-18 (New American Standard Bible)
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
7 It was also given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 If anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints.11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon. 12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword and has come to life. 15 And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17 and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.
For all you Oprah followers and lovers of "the secret" she so enthusiastically supports. Take a listen at the interiew below from Oprah's XM radio show. During the show, she interviews Esther Hicks who is one of the early propronents of the new age deception, known widely as the law of attraction----which was subsequently made into The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne (the wildly popular book and DVD). During the interview Hicks refers to "abraham" (not to be confused with the Biblical patriarch), a collection of "spirit guides" collectively known as "abraham". Brothers and sisters, this is blatant spiritual deception with a demonic flair. Unfortunately, many will continue to allow Oprah's warm personality, good humor, and good works blind them to the dangers of her "new age spirituality", which is really a road to spiritual destruction.
I pray the scales eventually fall from Oprah's eyes. She has such influence among millions but sadly, she's currently leading them on a road to spiritual calamity. Parts 2 and 3 of the interview are on the right hand side of the webpage.

When will mankind stop trying to 'compartmentalize' God and divide according to our various differences. Christ came to redeem fallen MANKIND and that truth is not limited to any one particular group but rather all of us are sinners in need of the Savior's salvific power. The following is an interesting excerpt dealing with what SOME preachers preach to their congregations. The same error occurs whenever we 'compartmentalize' the gospel---be it black liberation theology, womanist theology, or whatever the "social cause" du jour. While the gospel may have social IMPLICATIONS as to how we function in this world---those same social factors are not IN AND OF THEMSELVES the gospel. Rather, when we are born again and made new, or actions and love for fellow man (and thus our WORKS) will definitley be affected but we cannot make the WORKS themselves "the gospel".
OBAMA’S RELIGION: WHAT REV. JEREMIAH WRIGHT BELIEVES
When Jeremiah Wright got into a spitting contest with right wing TV host Sean Hannity last year, he at one point refused to answer Hannity's badgering questions and kept asking Hannity "Have you read James Cone, what do you know about black theology? Have you read Cone? Have you read Cone?Have you read Cone?"
James Cone is one of the founders, some say the founder, of Black Liberation Theology. Rev. Jeremiah Wright's ministry, his beliefs about America, and about life itself are formed by his attraction to and acceptance of the writings of James Cone.
Let's look at some quotes from James Cone.

"The time has come for white America to be silent and listen to black people."
"All white men are responsible for white oppression. "
"Theologically, Malcolm X was not far wrong when he called the white man 'the devil.'"
"Any advice from whites to blacks on how to deal with white oppression is automatically under suspicion as a clever device to further enslavement."
"Black suffering is getting worse, not better. . . . White supremacy is so clever and evasive that we can hardly name it." (2004)
" Jesus Christ is black therefore not because of some cultural or psychological need of black people, but because and only because Christ really enters into our world where the poor were despised and the black are, disclosing that he is with them enduring humiliation and pain and transforming oppressed slaves into liberating servants."
"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him."
"The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy."
"What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal.
Wow. Sounds very Christ-like huh?
