Obama wants to tell you (Christians) what you NEED to hear....

I have learned over the past few years to pretty much keep my political views to myself (unless I feel like arguing to get the blood circulating...) and I'm sure many out there may disagree. However, I figure I may as well comment on the "lovefest" that is going on with Barack Obama. I must admit, as a black man, I cannot help but feel a certain sense of 'pride' and excitement when I see another Black man do well in the political arena. And there is no denying that the man (Obama) can give one heck of a speech. HOWEVER, I feel my FIRST allegiance must ALWAYS be to the Lordship of Christ. If someone upholds something that is DIAMETRICALLY opposed to the Word---then we must part ways.

It is strange to me (but not when i really think about it) that so many African American Christians are willing to overlook what they personally believe the Scripture teaches just so they can support a candidate (?because he is black?). Specifically I am referring to Obama's open support for "gay rights" and gay civil unions.  If two people want to form a "civil union" it can certainly be argued that that is ultimately up to them, HOWEVER, the question of the MORALITY of that issue is something totally different. And it is interesting  (and disturbing) how Obama and many others feel the need to "re-educate" the religious community regarding their beliefs on the MORALITY of such unions. He has said on more than one occasion that he believes (as a Christian) that gay unions are not wrong and believes it would be his duty as President to "re-educate" black ministers/churches on the 'wrongness' of their disagreement on that issue. Below is a video (just one instance) where Obama clearly asserts his agreement with the homosexual political agenda and if you listen to his last statement at the end of the video, he feels that it is his duty (as well as the duty of likeminded politcos) to tell Christians that disagree.... "what they NEED to hear" and correct their "wrong views".  Of course, he uses the standard homosexual lobby lingo of the word, "homophobia" in referring to African American churches that adhere to what the Bible says. Nevermind, that a "phobia" is defined as an UNHEALTHY, IRRATIONAL fear---NOT simply disagreement with certain viewpoint.

He also makes a point that he was "troubled' by Donnie McClurkins' comments (which he INTERPRETED as "against gays"----listen to the McClurkin video and see if he was speaking "against gays") and said he was "troubled" by those views. (Incidentally, I think McClurkin wants to 'have it both ways' in espousing deliverance from homosexuality and his support for Obama  which is why he's apparently trying to equivocate and backtrack on his stance against homosexuality....but I'll save that for another day....lol)

Interestingly, Obama apparently believes (at the start of the video) that it is a GOOD thing that America is moving away from old paradigms (concerning "tolerance' for the homosexual agenda---and that is a GOOD thing??) and then makes the age old bogus argument that homosexual BEHAVIOUR is akin to one's SKIN COLOR.  Last time I checked God's word, certain  (immoral) BEHAVIORS  and CHOICES are considered sin---not one's ethnicity.

So, apparently according to Obama's political philosophy, the "change" everybody is saying we NEED and that he can bring about is one fraught with bigger government, intrusive to a Biblical worldview (specifically in the case of homosexuality), increased taxes (to pay for ALL the social promises he's made), support for abortion (even late-term abortion and babies born alive from abortion---(see link below) and support for gay 'civil unions'.

If that's the change we can hope for, I think i'll temper my 'enthusiasm' over the emotional speeches and say no thanks.

And now for a clarifying word from Pastor MacArthur:

Link to article on Obama's vote against the "Born alive act"....

As Plain as the nose on your face....

It never ceases to amaze me why church-folk fail to see what is so obvious to everybody else. A Scheister is a scheister and these cons are not even GOOD scheisters at that......it's pretty obvious what their motivations are. Money, materialism and selfishness.

Christian VooDoo??

I think the Bible sums it up best in the verses below: Check out the video and what is passing for "the spirit" in Christian circles these days....definitely troubling

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils,1Timothy 4:1.

1 John 4
1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Lessons from Heath Ledger....

Sad news reported yesterday. Actor Heath Ledger (from "The Patriot" and "Brokeback Mountain") was found dead in his apartment---possibly from an accidental drug overdose. While a very tragic and shocking occurrence it is certainly not new. This happens in some form or another thousands of times each day. Souls pass into eternity---sometime gradually (as in long illnesses) and sometimes, as with Ledger, very suddenly. The reality of this world is that (barring the rapture), death is certain for each of us. How many people have awakened one morning thinking it would be a typical, uneventful day and that day turns out to be the day they enter eternity and stand before the Lord? Remember those poor souls that got up and went to a regular work day in the World Trade Center on 9/11?

My heart grieves for those that enter into the eternal state unprepared. This point is especially brought home when the famous die suddenly as with Ledger. Remember the death of rapper Tupac Shakur? Anna Nicole Smith? River Phoenix? James Brown? Donda West (rapper Kanye West's mom) All tragic yet very real. And something we will all face. As a physician, I can't even count the number of times I have been at the bedside of the dying and it is always a very profound, emotional event to behold as people leave this earth and enter into eternity. Let me add, I have no "say" in the final resting place of any of these famous souls and cannot speak with certainty to their "readiness" or not to face eternity. My only point is that death is truly the "great equalizer".....and one can only hope that more people would be reached with the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ in time to repent  (turn from sin) and be saved (and thus, be ready when eternity should come knocking...).

Powerful video below that definitely brings it home for all of us.

Driving the point home...

I know if you peruse this blog, one can't help but get the impression that I have a great disdain for the likes of Joel Osteen. Let me correct that wrong assumption. I have no problems with Joel, as I don't know him personally and he certainly SEEMS nice enough as a person. The problem comes in that his theology is SO dangerous, false, misleading, and POPULAR (which is why I spend a good deal of time attempting to alert those that may be misled by his disarming smile). This man pastors the largest church in America!! Millions of Christians are mistaking his syrupy sweet platitudes for true Biblical Christianity, which could have eternal, disastrous consequences for those that think this is what Christianity is all about.

This video below is a great summation of the recent unbelievable comments by "America's Pastor" that Mormonism is Christian. Posted by Bezel333 on youtube. Take a minute and listen!

What's so wrong with Mormonism? Glad you asked...

As I've stated previously, regardless of what they WANT to call themselves (or what conservative pundits such as Sean Hannity etc tell you who claim Christianity but cannot see the obvious problems with Mormonism.) Mormons by definition are NOT Christian (and Mitt Romney etc know it...). The Jesus they espouse is clearly NOT the Jesus that is revealed in Scripture. Now, if they (mormons in general) choose to 'take their chances' on that coming great day of reckoning, then that is certainly their prerogative but don't insult Bible believing followers of Christ by calling those beliefs "christian". The video below quickly should bring you up to speed on what's 'wrong' with Mormonism (hint: they follow 'another jesus'....so, check your Bible to see what God says about that).

A Study in Contrasts!

Compare the blatant LIE of the snake in the first video (where he clearly, and unashamedly LIES and twists the word of God regarding the rich young ruler---check it in your Bible, if you must, and see if what he says happened occurred---it didn't) with the clear truth being presented in the second video. Speaks for itself.
