"America's Pastor" flubs it on Mormonism...

If you peruse the blog, I know my disdain for the "theology" of Joel Osteen is apparent and it may SEEM as if I'm picking on him. However, the truth is, Joel pastors one of the largest (if not THE largest) church in America and has become somewhat of a 'celebrity' with his "Live your Best life Now" version of the gospel. Yet, time and time again he ends up doing a little 'song and dance' when nailed down on the essentials of Christian doctrine.

I am not picking on Mormons either. But the truth is the truth. If you study the BASIC (BASIC) tenets of Christianity....Mormons by definition are NOT Christian. Yes, they may CALL themselves Christians but the gospel they follow is indeed "another" gospel from the one first delivered to the church and Paul warns precisely against such. That is not a slam against Mr. Mitt Romney or any other mormon---they are free to believe whatever they like (even to call themselves whatever they like)....but the TRUTH of the matter is opposite to what Mormons claim. Despite the "nice-ness" of your average Mormon, there are certain core beliefs that the religion claims about Jesus, God, salvation etc that are DIAMETRICALLY opposed to historic, basic Christianity. Joel Osteen as a pastor (and teacher of God's people) SHOULD know this and if he does not, what does that speak for his role as a pastor and teacher??
